The migrant accused of abducting, raping, and killing a young Polish woman on a Greek holiday island watched rape videos and searched “how to dispose of a corpse”.
The 32-year-old Bangladeshi man, whose name is still being withheld by the Greek authorities, has denied killing Anastazja Rubinska on the island of Kos on 12th June.
But the evidence against him is mounting up, with local media now reporting about grim searches recently found by forensic investigators on his seized mobile phone.
Despite his attempts to erase his digital footprint, investigators have managed to recover a message sent to his sister telling her how he had done “something terrible”.
They have also found that on the night of the 27-year-old woman’s disappearance, he had searched for videos on YouTube about how to dispose of a corpse.
A day earlier, say the police, he had been watching sick online clips of women being raped after searching for videos of “women being raped in the jungle”.
Curiously, the Greek police have revealed, he had added Anastazja as a friend on social media a few days before the alleged crime but had then deleted her.
The police believe he was likely premeditating the attack and decided to remove her as a friend after realising it could incriminate him.
It is not currently clear how he found Anastazja online.
The suspect has changed his version of events several times, but in one testimony, he mentioned that the young Polish woman had been seeking hashish.
The police believe he may have convinced her to follow him by falsely promising her the psychoactive drug.
Local media report that the suspect was caught on CCTV riding a scooter with the victim towards the Alykes Tigaki wetlands and returning alone later on.
The police believe he took her to the area, tore her clothes off, raped her, and strangled her to death.
Later on, he would have returned to the spot with bags, sealed her body up, dragged it a few dozen metres away, and covered it with a large pile of branches.
The police say he likely sealed the body in bags because an online video had told him it would accelerate the decomposition process.
Anastazja’s remains were found on 18th June.
The suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues.
