The Serbian mass shooter who killed eight and injured at least 14 has quenched his insatiable thirst for violence behind bars by beating up a fellow detainee.
Hot-headed Uros Blazic had to be restrained by wardens after repeatedly punching a fellow detainee in the face at the detention centre in Smederevo.
According to local media on 21st June, a blazing row broke out between the two men after Blazic, 21, confronted the other suspect about his loud snoring.
The row escalated into a beating so ruthless the detainee was left with a nasty black eye. The suspected mass murderer himself was reportedly unharmed in the tussle.
Blazic was taken into custody on 5th May after allegedly staging a mass shooting south of Belgrade a day earlier.
The bloodbath came just one day after a 13-year-old school shooter killed nine pupils and a security guard in the Serbian capital.
According to reports, Blazic drove through the villages of Malo Orasje, Dubona, and Sepsin in his dad’s Mercedes shooting at people at random with an assault rifle and three pistols.
Then, after getting the car stuck in a field, he allegedly stole another vehicle and drove it to a tollbooth near the village of Mali Pozarevac.
There, he is said to have taken a taxi driver and his pregnant passenger hostage, threatening them with a hand grenade.
He allegedly forced the cabbie to take him to his parents’ home in the village of Vinjiste, where he was eventually arrested on 5th May.
It is believed his alleged killing spree was triggered by an argument with his pals, who had gathered to celebrate a new baby.
Under questioning, he reportedly confessed to carrying out the massacre because people were “plotting against him” and “subjecting him to mockery and ridicule”.
Of the injured, seven had to be taken to hospital in critical condition.
The fatal victims were two 15-year-old boys, a 22-year-old off-duty cop and his 19-year-old sister, and four men aged 18, 20, 21, and 25.
Following his arrest after a manhunt involving more than 600 officers, Blazic was found to have a criminal record for violating gun laws.
He was charged with aggravated murder; illegal production, possession, carrying, and trafficking of weapons and explosive materials; kidnapping; and unauthorised use of a vehicle.
Days after his arrest, his father, R.B., was also seized on suspicion of illegal production, possession, carrying, and trafficking of weapons and explosive materials.
Officers confiscated several weapons and ammunition from premises he used.
Blazic’s uncle, G.G., is also accused of the same crime.
