A father and son kidnap team who snatched a wealthy German and demanded EUR 35,000 to return him have been seized by police in Serbia.
The terrified 35-year-old victim was seized at gunpoint and locked in the boot of a car while the kidnappers contacted his girlfriend and demanded a ransom.
But instead, she raised the alarm with cops, and police then intercepted the car at a road toll booth in Shid and freed the unnamed victim after arresting the pair.
Police video footage of the arrest in August shows both men – one a tough ex Foreign Legionnaire – being dragged from the car and handcuffed.
As they kneel beside the road police break open the boot and pull out their victim, his hands bound with plastic ties and gaffa tape over his mouth..
A search of the vehicle finds a loaded handgun under one of the seats.
Police later identified the kidnappers as 57-year-old N.V. and his 33-year-old son Z.V.
The investigation into the kidnapping continues.
